GirlCove: What does personal style mean to you?
“Rebellion. Freedom. Versatile. These words embody what personal style means to me. As a young kid I never liked rules. I was always that kid getting in trouble for doing the most in elementary school. I wasn’t one to sit still, I enjoyed pushing and breaking the boundaries every so often. This attitude still exists with me today and it definitely shapes and influences how I style myself today.”
GirlCove: How would you describe your personal style and how has it developed over the years?
“As an environmental science student, I try my best to shop ethically and consciously. I like to support things with a cause. I gravitate towards good, wholesome and impactful brands or ideals. I was in my second year of high school when I discovered vintage/thrift stores. Throughout the years I’ve mixed and matched pieces from decades ago and modernized it. 80 per cent of my wardrobe today is thrifted. There is a sense of thrill I get when I discover a good steal! Plus knowing there is probably only one of its kind in the world is just AMAZING. Thrifting helps you find your own unique individual style. Plus, your looks can never go wrong when you thrift, it’s pretty much always a hit. You know they often say that art is a form of expression…this is my interpretation.”
